Labor rates across New York vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.

Mike is the owner and is ALWAYS there. This place is directly across from Menands fire and police HQs. Mike and his team are honest, reliable, and fair. There have been several instances where I thought something needed repair only for Mike to tell me otherwise. Finding a good mechanic isn't easy, but I have one right down the block...lucky me.

Mike and his crew are fantastic. We were referred to this business by a friend who had nothing but good things to say. We've been very happy with the service and their prices are reasonable. Mike is always friendly and positive, has a great sense of humor and we trust him.

I can't say enough good things about Mike and the crew at Innovative Performance Auto. Mike is not only a genuinely very sweet guy, he's honest, organized, professional, knows his stuff and is great at communicating. He's one of the two best mechanics I've ever had, and the stuff of gold. I leave his auto shop leaving with a weight off of my shoulders. When can you say that about any kind of service? I'm so grateful to Mike and the guys at the shop. I'll go there til my wheels fall off, and even after!

Mike and his crew run the best mechanic shop I've ever been to. I was so nervous when I moved to the area and needed a new mechanic. I saw all the positive reviews about Innovative Automotive and those positive reviews are so true. Mike cares about you as a customer and is so understanding. He and his crew explain everything so well. The quality of work is top notch and trustworthy. They have literally taken me into the shop and shown me why something needs work. No BS with them and it's so refreshing. To top it all off - they are good people. If you are looking for that great mechanic to service your vehicles, Mike and his team are the best!
